Well, there you have it! We had a blast with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Saturday celebrating the first "All Things Christmas in July!" in Palatine. Yay!!!! This is one happy but tuckered out elf! LOL! Now it's back to cleaning up the office, doing the laundry (Mrs. Claus' outfit got a little dirty as Santa flew a bit low over the trees and bumped into a power line. He was trying out a new reindeer team and well... they are slowly learning how to fly better... giggle.) I just finished uploading all the videos and photographs we took of the event. Thank you sooooo very much to all who believed! Facets of Isis Beads in Palatine, Green Thumb at Your Service, Palatine Chiropractor Dr. Pyzik, Palatine Lawnmower Repair Shop, Dunkin' Donuts (on the corner of Northwest Highway and Smith Street in Palatine), McDonald's (on the corner of Northwest Highway and Smith Street in Palatine), Petra4Travel, and Mireya's Dance Fit Studio who lent us the studio and helped Mrs. Claus get in shape for the big event! Thank you!!!! When so few in this world believed.... you helped make it happen with your faith! There was even one very super special magical moment that made it all worth while... After most of the guests left around 10:00 pm, we thought that maybe that was all there is. Elf Barb said she was still going to stay open till midnight because, well, elves just don't go back on their word! She had promised everyone to be open between 7 and midnight. Many vendors closed early, some didn't show and some that didn't want anything to do with us before the event even gave us an angry scowl as if to say "Grow up! No one does Christmas in July. Get a real life and snap out of being an elf!". While I won't say it didnt' sadden me to hear it... I will tell you that it was all worth the while and the proof is in the Christmas pudding! Because at around 10pm.... a late night traveler came by the studio who needed Christmas in July just right then and there! Things had just settled down from the busy time, and the lights were still glowing bright and warm on the tree, the decorations were up and oh it was soo very beautiful! Well, at 10pm, there came a knock on the side door from a late night traveler. We beckoned her to come around to the front door because it was open. She looked in awe at what she saw. She kept repeating "I think I must be dreaming! I love Christmas trees! I even have them up in my house year round! Wow! This can't be real! Why is this here?!!"... and as we explained that we were celebrating Christmas in July in Palatine and that it was open to anyone to come and have fun with us, she told us that she had been depressed as she was going to work, and because she saw our lights on, and she loves Christmas, she decided to explore. Well! That was all Santa and the elf needed to hear. Someone else who loves Christmas as much as we do!! Yay!!!!! So we loaded her up with chocolates, and cookies, and sang Christmas songs together and boy did we have a great time! I hope she had sweet dreams of jinglebells and suger plums dancing in her head! :) Thank you for coming by to make our evening so grand! Thank you also to the wonderful Arlingtones for awesome singing! See you again Next Year!Peace, Love and Joy to you all! Elf Barb
Oh My Goodness!!! Have we been busy here! The elves are running around at the speed of light gathering pieces and parts for the big celebration on Saturday! Ace Hardware's employee has brand new gorgeous little baby so of course everyone has been oohing and aahing over the new baby. Mrs Claus has been bustling about town looking for a food vendor who can help serve up some sweets. She realized that to bring her cakes and cookies all the way from the North pole wasn't going to work very well. The reindeer and Santa usually finish them off before they arrive. So we are still on the lookout for a great sweets vendor locally. Santa has his suit ready, and Mrs. Claus has been polishing up her spectacles. Rudolph has been lighting the way for my late night journeys to the office to help figure out the decorations and prizes, and the singers have been rehearsing diligently. Oooh it's going to be soo much fun! I hope you can make it. The tickets are on sale at this link. Hope to see you there too!
It's not called Blitzen's Blog for no reason! We are working at the speed of light with Mrs. Claus to put all the pieces and parts into place in time for "All Things Christmas" - Christmas in July! on July 22. Mireya's Dance Studio is abuzz about the big event and they are zumba-ing their little butts off. We found the Christmas tree in the shed, as well as the wreaths and Christmas lights galore! The vendors are lining up to sell their wares and delicious goodies and the entertianment is rehearsing! They sound wonderful! Purchase your tickets at the door or in advance at this Link.
Wow!!! we are super busy here at the North Pole. We talked with Mrs. Claus about how plans are coming along and the twinkle in her eye gave me the "notion, I had nothing to dread!"
The tree is packed and waiting to be loaded onto Santas Sleigh, The reindeer are resting up for the long trip ahead.
, Mireya's Dance studio is all a buzx about the promise of "All Things Christmas" on July 22.
I myself have been trying to find a source for mistletoe in the midst of Summer
Not that I plan on using it myself, but rather because Rudolph requested we take a special photo of him and Cherise
So I am on a quest..... tune in again next week, and I will let you know how its going
Until then, happy summer to you all!
Last winter... on a super cold and blustery day... yes... the kind of day where the word blustery comes from.
I was chatting with Mrs. Claus before Zumba class at Mireya's Dance Fit Studio one day and she seemed a bit down. She told me she was looking for a way to find some Christmas cheer mid-year.Apparently, looking after the elves while they are on summer break can be tiring. She was looking to find a way to get Santa off the couch and out of his summer rut. Then it came to us, like a bag of candy canes and sugar plums raining down upon our heads. Let's celebrate All Things Christmas in July! A great way to bring Christmas Cheer to everyone midyear! Join us on July 22nd!
Mrs Claus has been super busy! Dancing Zumba for exercise, baking cookies, meeting with stores to sell their goodies for the big event, chasing Santa to hurry up and pack the sleigh up really good for the kids, and of course rehearsing the entertainers for some fun entertainment! She still has to decorate the Dance studio and is in the shed as we speak looking for all the wonderful things to decorate with. I hope she doesn't forget the mistletoe! That's a fun part!
Check out Mrs. Claus preparing herself for the big day! We caught up with her at Mireya's Dance Studio exercising to get in shape for the celebration. Maybe she can entice Santa to join her there too?
